Future Focused |
| As a dad to a young daughter, I’m inspired to help build a Calgary that gives everyone a reason to hope for the future. |
I’m running as an independent candidate because I believe Calgary works best when we have the power to make our own decisions without interference from other levels of government or party politics.
Calgary is best served by a strong, independent local government and Ward 8 needs a councillor who will stand up for our City and focus on the needs of Ward 8 neighbourhoods. I’ll listen, lead with integrity, and fight for what’s right. Together, we can build a better city with leadership that puts Calgarians at the centre of every decision.
Ward 8 is the heart of Calgary, but our neighbourhoods are under pressure. City Council continues to subsidize more sprawl leaving our inner city behind with aging infrastructure. I will stand up for Ward 8 so that we build a city where everyone has access to great public spaces, reliable services, and the amenities that make our neighbourhoods thrive.
The housing crisis is affecting us all, from seniors and students to working families. We need more homes, more housing options, and we need them now. I’ll prioritize the removal of unnecessary barriers to development and ensure we strengthen our communities through necessary neighbourhood amenities. We must support affordability across Calgary because we only succeed as a City when we all have a place to call home.
The health of our downtown is key to Calgary’s future and we need more action and real solutions for challenges like downtown vacancies, aging infrastructure, and gaps in mental health and addiction support. We must work with all orders of government to revitalize our downtown and create a safer, more dynamic space for everyone. I’ll prioritize improved street design and support a Green Line that better meets the needs of a modern, reliable transit system, effectively connecting Calgary’s neighbourhoods.
Affordability isn’t just about the price of a home or a monthly bill, it’s about having access to the services and infrastructure that support a good life. I’ll stand up for the services Calgarians rely on. Transit that gets you where you need to go safely and reliably, programs that build strong communities, and housing policies that help keep costs of living in check. By investing in people and neighbourhoods over continued sprawl, we can improve the quality of life for all Calgarians.
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own community. That means being able to walk home at night without fear, take transit without worry, and safely move through our streets on foot, bike, or behind the wheel. Calgary saw a record number of pedestrian fatalities last year, proof that Calgary needs safer streets. We need real action to improve transit security and ensure our neighbourhoods are welcoming for everyone. Whether you walk, bike, drive, or take transit, you should feel safe getting around.
We must build a resilient City. Calgarians are already feeling the real impacts of climate change from floods, drought, hailstorms, and wildfire smoke. We can’t afford to ignore these warning signs, or delay action any longer. The cost of inaction is too high for our economy, health, safety, and the future we leave to our children. A more resilient Calgary isn’t a dream for the future, it’s a responsibility we must take on now.
